Valerie's Rainbow Bileklikleri Bebek Şenliği'nde!
Kendim için yapmaya başladığım bileklikler, Moda Tutkusu blogu ve aynı zamanda My Best Friends markasının yaratıcıları Ayşegül ve Yasemin'in önerisiyle 8-9-10 Haziran tarihlerinde gerçekleşen Bebek Şenliği'nde My Best Friends standında sınırlı sayıda satışa sunuldu! Valerie's Rainbow bilekliklerini alan ilk kişiler Buse Terim ve Özge Ulusoy'du...ki bu benim için çok güzel bir başlangıcı da beraberinde getirdi. Sınırlı sayıda üretilen bilekliklerin yoğun ilgi görmesi beni çok mutlu etti. İlgi gösteren herkese çok teşekkürler. Ve tabii bana böylesine güzel bir öneride bulundukları ve standlarında bunu gerçekleştirmemi sağladıkları için Ayşegül ve Yasemin'e çok çok teşekkürler!

DIY Inspiration: Venessa Arizaga's Woven Jewelry Line
After graduating from Parsons, Vanessa Arizaga worked as a designer at Tuleh, Carolina Herrera and mostly recently at Zac Posen. Her inspiration comes from everything, but her travels play the most important part. Her Spring/Summer 2012 collection includes gummy bears, rhinestones, smiley faces, oreos, fluorescent crochet, donuts, crutches, peace signs, and tiny silver arms and legs. Entitled "The Far Side," the collection, which ranges from knitted collars to gunmetal charm bracelets, explores the magical power of charms. And the designer leaves no cultural reference unturned, combining nu-rave knickknacks with shamanic medicine pouches and Mexican milagros—the little limb-shaped tokens left at altars and carried for good luck. I really like a mix of crochet and chains. I recently made a woven chain necklace by inspiring from another designer. However, Vanessa Arizaga's woven jewelry line includes not only chain and crochet but the other materials as well. Therefore, I found it more inspiring. I think some of the pieces are very DIYable, especially that neon necklace (8th picture above). It's gonna be my new DIY challenge! :)

"Anndra Neen was founded in April 2009 by sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens. As an expression of their shared vision for jewelry and accessories, their design evokes their personal histories and inspirations. Their grandmother, Annette Nancarrow was a painter, sculptor and jewelry designer. Her pieces were collected by Frida Kahlo, Anaïs Nin, Helena Rubinstein, Peggy Guggenheim, Elizabeth Arden, Dorothy Miller, Mrs. Harry Abrams. While attracted to their grandmother’s eclecticism, the sisters have drawn on their own interpretations of antique European jewelry, ancient Egyptian motifs, Japanese design elements and Bauhaus graphics to create a vision that gives reference to its antecedents and is at the same time relevant to the moment..."
